Literacy Texas Hires New Executive Director
Literacy Texas has announced the appointment of Lori Donley as Executive Director. Literacy Texas is the statewide literacy coalition for Texas, connecting and equipping literacy programs through resources, training, networking, and advocacy.
Ms. Donley brings many years of professional and volunteer experience in leadership development and nonprofit administration to the role. She was formerly Leadership Development Coordinator for the Texas Classroom Teachers Association, and has also worked with the Texas Attorney General's Family Initiatives division and the Texas Governor's Commission for Women.
Ms. Donley holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Public Administration from Texas State University. She serves on the Greenlights for Nonprofits 501 Council, and is past president of the Young Women's Alliance and Club Red (American Red Cross) of Central Texas.

They provide leadership to help community-based organizations that provide literacy services, literacy coalitions and adult education programs throughout the state build capacity and improve literacy levels in Texas.
Their vision is that every literacy organization in Texas will have the resources it needs to help as many people as possible learn basic literacy skills in order to participate fully in society.
